ABC notably pumped Marvel’s brakes this past year, to decline additional Agent Carter, an Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. spinoff or any other series, but the next could pick up in only a matter of weeks. ABC execs say they’ll meet with Marvel in a few weeks’ time to discuss their options toward a series “we all feel is as creatively strong as it can be.”

The reveal came from new ABC entertainment president Channing Dungey, who seemed to stress that ABC and Marvel wanted to take greater care in executing their next collaborative project than perhaps had been given to to the Bobbi-Hunter Most Wanted spinoff (Via IGN):

Marvel’s Most Wanted, at the end of the day, did not feel as strong as some of the other pilots that we shot. We talked about it with Marvel and we all came to an agreement that we wanted to figure out what the next show that we do together [is] and we all feel is as creatively strong as it can be.

To that end, Dungey noted that they’d meet with the Marvel team in two weeks’ time to discuss those next steps, without disclosing if that included the Damage Control TV series, or John Ridley’s long-simmering mystery project:

We’re looking at a number of different things. Some of them are projects that we were working on before and some of them are totally new ideas and IP.

Dungey at least expressed her confidence with Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’s new direction moving to 10:00 P.M., but what might Marvel’s ABC slate look like in a few months’ time? Is a new series better than any others discussed so far?
