Communities, businesses and law enforcement are coming together again for the 30th Annual National Night Out on Tuesday, August 6 for the purpose of heightening crime and drug prevention, strengthening neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships, and sending a message to criminals that our neighborhoods are fighting back!

Evansville has been celebrating National Night Out since 1995 and this year you can celebrate, too, from 6 to 9 p.m. at Wesselman Park.  Educational booths will be set up so you can gain valuable information to combat crime.  Free food, refreshments and activities will be taking place, plus there will be special demonstrations by the Evansville Police Department, such as K-9, SWAT, fraud, bomb and motorcycle demonstrations!

If you plan to be at Wesselman Park, it's advised that you park in the old Roberts Stadium parking lot using the Boeke Road entrance.  If you can't make it to Wesselman Park, you can still participate with the traditional "lights on" and front porch vigil on the evening of August 6.

The 30th Annual National Night Out is sponsored by the National Association of Town Watch (NATW).
