Energize Evansville’s Free “Fitness in the Park” to Focus on Weight Training This Saturday
Since entering office, Mayor Lloyd Winnecke has made promoting better health and fitness to Evansville residents a top priority for his administration. That promotion continues this Saturday (January 18th) at Swonder Ice Arena during the next installment of the monthly “Fitness in the Park” series.
Focusing on proper weight training, the two-hour event will begin at 9am with a warm-up session followed by weight training led by Tony Maslan, Director of Personal Training for Custom Fit at Bob’s Gym. Participants will receive fundamental fitness instruction and learn how to better utilize weight machines during workouts.
According to a press release sent to local media from the Mayor’s office, this Saturday’s event will also be an opportunity for residents to “join Energize Evansville’s ‘Your Best Body Challenge.'” A program residents can join “at any time and receive daily and monthly guidance, based on their individual goals, using the Energize Evansville Facebook page. The session will provide participants with an opportunity to learn important health information, lose weight and get in shape with FREE professional fitness counseling to help achieve Your Best Body!”
The program is free to attend and is open to participants of all fitness levels who are encouraged to exercise at their own pace.
