Newburgh Dog Ready for Adoption After Recovering from Being Shot in the Face
Sometimes, people are just the worst. And the depths they sink to never ceases to amaze me. Case in point - Zeus.
According to the Warrick Humane Society Facebook page, "Zeus is a 1.5 year old mastiff mix. This boy is very sweet, despite what has recently happened to him. Unfortunately, Zeus was not liked by a neighbor of his, so he was shot in the face with a shotgun. Zeus is 86 lbs, and has a lot of love to give someone."
One might think that being shot IN THE FACE would leave a dog untrusting of humans. But Zeus is a sweet boy who just wants snuggles. In looking for photos of Zeus on Facebook, I found some quotes about just how sweet this boy is.
Angie Smith Wright write this about him. "[Zeus] has been at the shelter 3rd longest of all the dogs and really needs a forever home. He is the sweetest, most gentle boy! He is great on a leash, listens well/obedient, patient, and loves treats!"
Tabitha, a WHS employee said, "Zeus is truly a giant teddy bear. He had a rough couple months but still chooses to be sweet and trust those who show him they mean him no harm. He would benefit from a home where he can be the center of attention and continue to be shown that humans can be kind and gentle."
