A long time ago, I heard that a woman could not buy a hat in Owensboro without her husband's permission.

I really don't think they crack down on that one these days, but it IS a law on the Kentucky books.

Actually, it's probably been a good WHILE since they enforced that one, because my grandmother ALWAYS wore hats and she's been gone since 1980. And she and my grandfather divorced in 1947, so do the math.
