The annual 4th of July fireworks display in downtown Evansville will draw thousands upon thousands of people to the riverfront to see the show. But, with construction at nearly every turn, finding a place to park will be more difficult than in years past. In an effort to try an make the process as smooth as possible, the Evansville Police Department releases a map of available parking in and around the construction zones.

The yellow line is the detour route that many of us who work downtown know all too well since construction on the new hotel and sewer lines began earlier this year. The purple lines mark the roads that are closed due to said hotel construction, while the green signifies the closures due to sewer work.

The blue spaces signify available parking, and include:

Of course, there will be more cars than parking spots available in those areas, so these aren't the only places to park, merely a reminder where public parking is available.

Outside of that, it's pretty much a free-for-all, for lack of a better term. Parking will also be available on side streets all over downtown where allowed.

Enjoy the show!
