There are two types of people that no one trusts: politicians, and anyone selling cars. On the other hand, Americans think very highly of nurses. That is the consensus of a recent Gallup poll.

Respondents were asked to grade some 22 professions on the level of their ethics and honesty. Members of Congress came in as the least trusted, with 54 percent of the survey respondents reporting that they think Congress has “low” standards. Car salespeople really didn’t do much better, with 49 percent of respondents saying you can’t trust them either.

Interestingly, a job in Congress is the only position that has remained consistent since Gallup began conducting this survey 36 years ago.

However, Americans do trust the people that look after their health care needs. Nurses ranked as the most trusted, followed by pharmacists and medical doctors.
