The Rob and Maddie surprised the staff at Comfort by Cross Eyed Cricket and ate a fantastic breakfast after the show.

During our weekly surprise appearances across the Tri-State, we stumbled upon Comfort by Cross Eyed Cricket. Comfort is actually located right down the street from the studio, yet neither of us had eaten there before.

I (Maddie) am a westsider, so if I'm going to a Cross Eyed Cricket, it's the OG location off the Lloyd Expressway. I've been going there since I was a kid, so it's hard to break the habit. That's probably why it took me over a year to try the new CEC in Downtown Evansville.

I'm disappointed that I waited so long.

Comfort has been HIGHLY recommended to us by several people, so we knew it was only a matter of time before we visited. And we're so glad we did.

LOOK AT THIS FOOD.

Maddie got the sausage and cheese omelette, and Rob opted for the Homestead meal, which consisted of hashbrowns with two fried eggs on top, sausage mixed in, and typically comes smothered in gravy (but Rob isn't a gravy fan....????).

HOLY SMOKES. I don't think either of us talked for the solid 20 minutes it took us to finish our meals. The portions are HUGE and the food is delicious. Neither of us could even touch food until dinner time. I ate enough to cover breakfast, lunch, and snack time.

The staff was super attentive and friendly and were also super excited to see us, which we love! Where will we show up next? Stay tuned.

If you have a recommendation of a restaurant, business, or event that you'd like to see us pop up at, let us know! We are always looking for ways to get more involved in our community.
