Come volunteer to walk a shelter dog!

Warrick Tails on Trails kicks off this weekend at the Warrick Humane Society!

Tails on Trails is a new program the WHS is offering to get the community out and active while also benefiting their shelter dogs.

Warrick Tails on Trails is a free and family-friendly program that starts this April 6th, 2019. Tails on Trails will be held every Saturday from 8-9:30 a.m.

Registration will be in the shelter's training room; the entrance is facing South Vann Road. On your first visit, please bring a photo ID. WHS will make a copy of your ID to include with your registration form. Based on the form, you'll be paired with a compatible canine to talk on a walk or run along the beautiful new trail that links the shelter to Friedman Park and Vann Road Park. Dog-walkers must 18 or older to control the leash, but younger participants are also welcome to join!

Remember: shelter dogs spend a majority of their time in kennels, so every bit of extra exercise and socialization we can give them is so beneficial.

If you're unable to donate your time and energy, but still want to help the shelter dogs at the WHS, consider donating the following:
-Harnesses and leashes (no slip leads or extendable leashes, please)
-Dog treats and zip lock bags
-8.5 x 11 inch white copy paper
-Monetary donations to Warrick Humane Society for vaccinations and care
