Our friends at PC Pound Puppies (NewLife Rescues & Adoption) have issued an urgent plea for adoptions.

The rescue said on Facebook that they are currently over capacity, and have more dogs coming in. The Southern Indiana organization shared photos of a number of dogs that they describe as some of their "best dogs." Keep scrolling to meet some of the dogs currently looking for their forever homes.

WE ARE OVER CAPACITY!!!! We’ve not had any good applications for our dogs in OVER A WEEK. Therefore NONE are moving out and animal control is bringing MORE in. Below are SOME of our BEST DOGS. They’ve got great personalities and would love to get out of here.

Annabelle

Miss Annabelle is a 2 year old mix breed that weighs about 55 pounds. She is said to be good with cats (but ones that are used to dogs are better as she likes to bug them sometimes.) PC Pound Puppies says Annabelle is good with most dogs as well. She absolutely loves people of all ages and is super loving!

Charlee

This two-year-old Shepherd/lab/rott mix is Charlee. She previously lived in a home but was surrendered because her people were moving. Charlee is house-trained and she is very sweet, quiet, and well-mannered. Charlee is great with other dogs and PC Pound Puppies says they think she’d do just fine with cats too.

Delta

Delta is just one year old and weighs about 45-50 pounds. He is believed to be a lab mix and is said to be great with other dogs. PC Pound Puppies describes Delta as "very people friendly" with "lots of bouncy, happy lab energy." They say Delta would probably be fine with cats other than trying to play with them.

Gordi

Gordi is a 5-year-old shepherd mix that weighs a whopping 83 pounds. Gordi has been at the rescue for quite some time but he is both house and crate trained. He is good with dogs but would do best in a home without cats. Gordi is a well-mannered boy once his initial energy of meeting new people fades. He does love to walk, swim, and play fetch!

Izzy

Izzy is a 2-year-old redbone coonhound that weighs 55 pounds. PC Pound Puppies say Izzy came from a backyard breeder. However, she is a wonderful dog that is house and crate trained and has lived with dogs of all sizes as well as cats. They did says she would sometimes get excited and accidentally step on the cats. Izzy loves people but she does have a lot of energy. She would do best with a big yard to run and a fairly active person would be an ideal match.

Mason

Mason is a 3-year-old male lab/hound mix that weighs about 60 pounds. He is good with cats and most other dogs and he loves people of all ages! PC Pound Puppies says Mason will definitely let you know he’s part hound!

Midas

Midas is almost 10 months and weighs 60 pounds. This Anatolian Shepherd mix is house-trained, good with dogs, and good with cats. Midas is still just a puppy so he has a lot of happy puppy energy. Because of that puppy energy, and the clumsiness that comes with it, he will likely knock over little kids.

Midnight

Midnight weighs just 40 pounds and is a 3-year-old lab mix. He loves people and kids and he is very well-mannered. He is used to the house live and is house trained. PC Pound Puppies says Midnight does do well with cats and is fine with other dogs but often resource guards initially. With a little work, he should be fine with other dogs in the household.

Walker

Walker is 4 years old and weighs 55 pounds. He is a Treeing Walker Coonhound and would be ideal as an only pet. True to being a coonhound, Walker likes to sniff things out and bay at anything he finds interesting. He is very well-mannered and very sweet around people.
