Universal Studios Hollywood Guests Stuck and Stranded on Rides Following Blackout
Universal Studios Hollywood guests experienced quite the scare after the theme park experienced a blackout and mechanical issues.
On Thursday (April 7) around 3:45 PM, a blackout took place which caused numerous attractions to shut down mid-ride. Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey and Transformers: The Ride 3D were both impacted which caused employees and the Los Angeles Fire Department to evacuate the riders.
Fire officials told local news stations that everyone was safely removed from the rides by approximately 6:10 PM.
One TikToker user posted a video from the Harry Potter ride evacuation. They claimed that they were stuck in the air for one hour and 45 minutes with more than a dozen people on the ride. In the comments section, they explained that "the technicians had to manually pull our seats to a platform then we walked downstairs from there." One of the commenters reported that one of the riders needed a medic at the time.
"As a result of a power interruption from So Cal Edison, we experienced a brief power dip which resulted in exiting guests from some attractions," a Universal Studios Hollywood spokesperson said in a statement. "Power has been fully restored and we're working to get a few remaining attractions back online. The theme park remains open."

In another TikTok video, it appeared that the Jurassic World ride was also stalled due to the blackout but has not been confirmed by authorities.
