After exploring spots ten through six, we’re moving into a whole new tier of our coffee tour and honestly, it only gets better from here. This next group of cafés left a lasting impression, each one standing out in its own way. From atmosphere to drinks to overall experience, these are the places that made us pause, stay a little longer, and immediately want to return.

If the first half of our list showed just how fun and diverse Evansville’s coffee scene is, the top five take it to another level.

Here are our top five coffee shops in Evansville:

5. Mission Grounds

Starting off the final countdown is Mission Grounds, located on Washington Square near Eastland Mall. What makes this café special goes far beyond coffee. It’s connected to a thrift store that offers discounted items to the community and works alongside the Evansville Rescue Mission to support individuals experiencing homelessness, abuse, and addiction.

Beyond its meaningful mission, Mission Grounds offers a wide menu including lattes, mochas, hot and iced coffee, cold brews, Americanos, tea lattes, teas, and even a kids’ menu. While the food selection is limited, it features a variety of bundt cakes and cookies that pair perfectly with their drinks.

One unique feature we loved was the “Faith” drink option, where customers give the barista complete creative freedom to craft a surprise beverage. It’s a fun twist that sets Mission Grounds apart from other local shops.

We both ordered the Salted Caramel Cold Brew, topped with salted sweet cream cold foam, and it was perfectly balanced. Paired with our bundt cakes, it made for a great experience. Mission Grounds is not only a solid stop for coffee and treats but also a place with a meaningful impact on the community.

4. Dove & Twig Cafe

Coming in at number four is Dove & Twig Cafe, a calm and cozy spot that feels like a hidden gem. Like Revival, it’s located inside a church, but its quieter, tucked-away atmosphere gives it a unique charm that stands out from a typical coffee shop.

We visited during their St. Patrick’s Day menu, which added a fun seasonal touch. We ordered the Clover Crème Cold Brew and the Carrot Cake Iced Latte. Both drinks fit the theme perfectly. The cold brew was light and refreshing with a hint of sweetness, while the carrot cake latte delivered warm, dessert-like flavors.

Dove & Twig offers a low-key, relaxed environment that makes it easy to slow down and enjoy the moment. It’s a memorable stop for anyone looking for a quieter coffee experience.

3. The Daily Grind

Taking the bronze medal is The Daily Grind, located downtown. As first-time visitors, we were pleasantly surprised by everything this café had to offer.

The moment we walked in, we were greeted by a warm, welcoming atmosphere. Some customers were working on laptops, while others were enjoying brunch together, creating a lively but cozy environment. Their menu is extensive, featuring breakfast and lunch options, fresh-baked pastries, coffee, cold brews, smoothies, and protein drinks.

With help from the friendly barista, we ordered an Iced Cinnamon Dulce Latte, an Iced Heath Bar Latte, and a chocolate-covered strawberry pastry baked fresh that morning. Everything lived up to the hype—the drinks were flavorful and well-made, and the pastry was impossible to resist.

We ended up staying longer than expected, simply because the space felt so comfortable. Whether you’re looking for a place to work, eat, or catch up with friends, The Daily Grind checks every box.

2. Parlor Doughnuts

Earning second place is Parlor Doughnuts, a spot that impressed us from the moment we walked in. The atmosphere is bright, inviting, and uniquely styled, making it a great place to sit and stay awhile.

The menu offers a wide variety of options, including their well-known donuts, coffee, smoothies, acai bowls, and breakfast sandwiches. Choosing was difficult, but we went with a cinnamon roll donut, a bacon, egg, and cheese croissant sandwich, and a honey cinnamon cold brew.

Everything came out quickly, and we immediately knew we had made the right choices. The cold brew was smooth and flavorful, and it paired perfectly with both the sweet donut and savory sandwich.

We also noticed their newer savory donut menu, which we’re excited to try on a future visit. Overall, Parlor Doughnuts is a must-try spot that delivers both quality and atmosphere.

1. Honeymoon Coffee Co.

Taking the top spot is Honeymoon Coffee Co., with three locations across Evansville. This café stood out for its consistency, creativity, and overall experience.

Their menu features handcrafted drinks like lattes, hot and iced coffee, cold brews, teas, frappes, and fruit smoothies. They’re also known for their unique bubble waffles, available in a variety of flavors year-round, along with rotating seasonal menus that bring back favorites while introducing new options.

We ordered the Snickerdoodle Latte and the Salty Dog Cold Brew, both from their signature menu, and they did not disappoint. The flavors were exactly what we were hoping for, and the variety of milk options—including protein milks—was a great bonus.

All three locations offer a welcoming environment with plenty of space to relax, work, or catch up with friends. At the location near the University of Evansville, we even spoke with a regular customer who said, “I come here often because the drinks never miss. It’s my favorite place to get work done while enjoying coffee and a snack.”

Honeymoon Coffee Co. earns our top spot for delivering a consistently standout experience that keeps customers coming back.
