I was meandering around Facebook and this sweet face caught my eye. He reminded me of my kitty growing up. We didn't have indoor cats - we had barn cats. We had a barn that they preferred to lounge in and though I'd try to keep them in my bed with me, the outdoors just seemed a lot more appealing. And before you get all judgey, in the winter they all had a heated cat house that they could take shelter in.

My one special barn cat was Pete. Pete was an old orange tabby that my mom rescued on Halloween when I was in sixth grade. Pete lived to the ripe old age of 22 out in the horse barn.

This old man looks a lot like Petey. This cat, whose name is not listed (if he even has one) needs a home with a barn that he can live in. I'll bet he'd make a great mouser and might even keep pesky Tom cats (that tend to spray) out.

He might not be a sweet little kitten or even a playful pup but he's a friendly old dude that doesn't need much out of life. If you don't have much time to devote to a pet but you have the space, consider adopting this guy.

Here's the adoption info on this sweet old Barn Cat:

Outdoor/Barn home needed for this boy. He has been neutered and is friendly but would do best outdoors. He has been tested and is FIV/FELEUK Combo negative.
Contact the shelter directly if you can help this boy.
