Tell Your Indiana State Representatives You Want Alcohol Sales on Sunday
Tired of not being able to grab a six pack on Sunday? Then you need to tell somebody who has the ability to change things.
Last week, I shared with you the news that the Indiana Legislature would not be voting on a bill that would allow the sale of alcohol on Sunday, effectively shelving the possibility for at least another year. I included in that story an online poll allowing you to vote on whether or not you think Sunday alcohol sales should be allowed. I was not surprised by the results.
As you can see, of those who voted, every single one of them were in favor of lifting the ban. So what can we do to let our representatives in the Statehouse know that we demand a change? There are a couple of options.
- Sign the petition at the official Hoosiers for Beverage Choices website, ChangeItIndiana.org.
- E-mail your state representative.
Below is a list of reps by county for Vanderburgh, Posey, Warrick, and Gibson counties. Notice that some represent more than one county. That's because the state is broken up into districts, some of which encompass one whole county and part of another. Simply click on the reps name to send them an e-mail. To find out who exactly represents you, the state government's website features an interactive map that allows you to get that information by simply entering your home address.
