Note to all current and future con artists, take the time to do a few minutes of research on your potential victims.

A post on the Evansville Watch Facebook page Wednesday evening reported hearing two separate incidents in Evansville of a person claiming to be an employee of the power company, dispatched to the homes to check the electrical outlets.

The pre-paid credit cards are at the center of a current scam involving a fake sweepstakes.

Unfortunately, there are those who are looking to prey on people's sympathies toward the storm victims and make a quick buck.
