Beware of Individual Posing as Vectren Employee

A post on the Evansville Watch Facebook page Wednesday evening reported hearing two separate incidents in Evansville of a person claiming to be an employee of the power company, dispatched to the homes to check the electrical outlets.

The post went on to say the suspect asked both residents if he could come in the house to do the work. Fortunately, neither resident allowed them in, and promptly called both 911 and Vectren to report the incident. A representative from the company informed the callers they had not authorized any sort of work to be done.

It goes without saying, but if this happens to you, DO NOT ALLOW THIS INDIVIDUAL INTO YOUR HOME! Also be sure to call the authorities (911) immediately to report the incident.
