We experienced our first little girls' sleepover Saturday night. By the grace of God, a shot of ZZZquil before bed, and some strong coffee Sunday morning we lived to tell about it.

Angel here. I have been jokingly and very seriously reminding everyone for weeks now that my 40th birthday is this Thursday. In the 39 years, I have spent on this earth I have had quite the journey. Lots of ups and downs, bumps and bruises, and plenty of valuable lessons.

Angel here. I remember growing up my mother telling me how hard it was to raise my brothers. I laughed when she shared stories. I'm not sure any amount of schooling, storytelling, book reading could have prepared me for raising teenage boys.

Ahhh, the West Side Nut Club Fall Festival. It's a time and place where even the older generations can feel like a kid again. But, do you realize how many life lessons the younger ones learn from the Fall Fest? If you are a parent, and you don't teach your kids these things shhhhaaaaame on you!

There are lessons to be learned in life all around us, if we pay attention. I have learned a few things from my adopted kitties, Sophe & Boo, and I'd like to share them with you.
