If you want to get away and experience nature, one Indiana campground has ranked very highly!
Escape to Nature
Like many people, I enjoy getting away and spending some time in nature. There's just something about going out to an area that is away from the hustle and bustle of the city and spending some time relaxing around a campfire and hiking trails. If you enjoy camping, one campground recently ranked among the best in the Midwest.
Indiana Campground Comes in 9th
Recently TheDyrt.com ranked the best campgrounds all across the United States. They separated the campgrounds by region, and in the Midwest Sycamore Springs Park made it into the top 10, but placed in 9th. The Midwest covers quite a large area, so having a campground from southern Indiana come in 9th place is quite the feat! TheDyrt.com said they based their rankings on reviews and ratings from campers.
Sycamore Springs Park
Sycamore Springs Park is located in English, Indiana which is surprisingly close to the Tri-State. When I checked on Google Maps, it's only an hour and fifteen minutes away from Evansville, so it's a great distance for a weekend getaway.
So why was this park rated among the best for camping in the Midwest? Here is what TheDyrt.com has to say about Sycamore Springs Park:
Sycamore Springs’ 250 acres are home to 10 shelter houses, numerous playgrounds, fishing ponds, a softball field, basketball court, wedding chapel, 35 tent camping sites and 64 RV camping sites. As a bonus, firewood is free for campers.
Sycamore Springs is family friendly (alcohol is not allowed) and offers sites for all types of camping. Water views are available and there are fire pits on all sites. Camping cabins are offered at a discounted rate during the week, and the fully furnished House of Annie & Bud also awaits.
