Recently Sony hackers who call themselves Guardians of the Peace, have sent out threatening messages in regards to theaters who show the movie.  You can see their messages here.

Showplace has decided to not show the movie due to concerns of moviegoers safety.  Going to the movies on Christmas is something that has become tradition for a lot of families, and Showplace wants to make sure that tradition sticks around and is still able to be enjoyed. With all the uncertainty surrounding “The Interview”, we feel that the distraction would take away the joy and spirit of the season.”  The safety and comfort of our customers is and will always be a priority for Showplace Cinemas. -Dianne Miles, North Park Cinemas, DBA: Showplace Cinemas
