Ryan Discovers Secret “Dante’s Inferno” Drink at WIRED Coffee [VIDEO]
If you're an avid coffee drinker, and not afraid to get a little adventurous in your quest for unique flavors, then a cup of Dante's Inferno is waiting for you at WIRED Coffee House and Music Venue in downtown Evansville!
Gavin and I stopped by WIRED at 111 Northwest 4th Street Tuesday morning after they graciously allowed us to use their stage for a silly, yet funny, video where we poke a little good-natured fun at The Chainsmokers. After finishing the shoot we chatted with WIRED Coffee curator, David Rudibaugh, who offered me a new drink he recently whipped up that he described as being on the "secret menu." With my interest piqued, I ordered a 12-ounce cup of what he calls, "Dante's Inferno."
Now then, I am a big fan of hot and spicy food, but I typically don't care for spice in my drinks. However, David assured me the subtle note of cayenne pepper mixed with chocolate, espresso, steamed milk, and cinnamon wouldn't have me looking to blast my mouth with a fire extinguisher.
He was right. There was a tiny bit of spice at the end of every sip that left a gentle tingle on my taste buds, but not so much it overpowered the drink which I thought tasted like drinking a piece of cinnamon toast dipped in a hot cup of coffee. It had a warm, earthy flavor, and it was delicious.
Next time you stop in WIRED, be sure to ask David for a cup of Dante's Inferno, you won't be disappointed.
