A quick scan over the annual Fall Festival Munchie Map reveals thousands of different food items available, many of which aren't too out of the ordinary and fall under your standard carnival fare. However, that same scan also reveals a few oddities that you're only going to find on Franklin Street the first full week of October.

While I try to do at least one new food each year, my trips to the Fall Festival are generally pretty basic, corn dog or pronto pup, mozzarella cheese sticks, cherry-apple cider, etc. So this year I decided to push the limits of my comfort zone and let my Facebook friends suggest a few out-of-the-ordinary dishes for me to try. With the list in hand, I made my way to Franklin Street on Thursday afternoon to expand my flavor horizons.
