The end of the school year is a time for celebration! It's a chance for students to take a deep breath and think about all of their hard work over the past ten months.  And to help with the celebration, some businesses offer rewards for report cards! Yes, this is still a thing. I remember loving this type of program when I was a student, and I'm happy that there are places around that offer incentives for students, as it's a great way to build community and foster relationships, and for this dad of three, it's really good on my wallet. I called around the Owensboro area (and had to widen my scope a bit) and here are the programs I found that participate in a report card program (if I missed you, I promise it was inadvertent, and you can email us at evansville.dme@townsquaremedia.com and let us know of your participation). Hopefully we'll be able to add to this list in the near future!

RITZY'S OF OWENSBORO

Ritzy's of Owensboro comes in hot with a grade-incentive opportunity for students who bring in their current report cards. One A will get you a small drink, two will earn you a single scoop of ice cream, three, a hotdog or burger, and four, a double jr. scoop of ice cream. And the cool thing is this isn't just an end-of-year promotion, but it's all year! This program is valid at both Ritzy Owensboro locations.

They also let me know that any student that has a non-traditional report card can bring that in to receive a free scoop as well!

I contacted Elite Air Owensboro and they let me know that they offer $1 off for every A, up to $5 off total. So, if you're looking for a place for your students to get all of that end-of-year energy out, don't forget to bring in their report card!

WATHER'S GOLF & FUN

Just up the road from Owensboro is Wather's Golf and Fun in Evansville, and they offer a free round of putt-putt golf for students who bring in their report cards. Easy enough!

As with any type of promotion, these are subject to change and are at the discretion of the business. If you have any specific promotion questions, please reach out to the business directly!

Petting Zoos Within Driving Distance of the Tri-State

Anyone who knows me knows that I prefer animals over people most days. I tell my boyfriend all of the time that when we retire, I want a little plot of land with some cows, goats, pigs, chickens, and a whole lot of dogs. A girl can dream, right?
Sadly, since I can't have my own farm anytime soon, I guess I will settle for enjoying other people's animals, which means frequenting petting zoos and farms is pretty common for us. Luckily, I don't have to drive far to pet all the animals I can fit into a day.
From elephants to highland cattle to Clydesdales and a coatimundi, the tristate offers a wide variety of petting zoos that can be visited in a short day trip. Next thing you know, you'll be making your own list of animals to have on your own dream farm like me.
