In the aftermath of this morning's tornado, the Red Cross has done what the Red Cross does frankly, and made itself available to those affected by this mornings events and offered information to those of us who weren't affected but would like to help out our friends and neighbors in the Newburgh and Henderson areas.

The following information was provided to us by Greg Waite, Regional Chief Development Officer for the Evansville-Wabash Valley Red Cross:

  • Shelter open at American Legion located at Highway 261 and Sharon Road in Newburgh. This is also the location where photos/belongings can be dropped off if you are in the area and find something that may have blown away in the storm.
  • Volunteers are assisting first responders, surveying the damaging and meeting with the home owners affected to best determine how we can help.
  • Those wanting to help now, can make a financial contribution online www.tristateredcross.org. Financial contributions can be turned into shelter, food, clothing or more as the need changes in our community.
