Over the weekend, I got an indoor swimming pool!

We've had a lot of rain lately. Actually, that's an understatement - we've had a TON of rain lately. Rain can really put a damper on your summer plans, but I made the most of the cruddy weather and took my fun indoors.

Having a pool has always been a dream of  mine, but having an indoor pool is next-level awesomeness. Well, thanks to our lovely Mother Nature, my wish came true. The best part of all is that it was FREE! Take a look at my tutorial on how to get a fun and free indoor pool.

By now, you've realized I was being totally sarcastic about this entire thing. That's water pouring into my basement by the gallons. Believe it or not, as cool as an indoor pool would be, this isn't how I pictured it happening.

I just bought my house at the end of March, and right away we noticed a tiny leak in the basement. Totally typical for a basement, but recently the leak got worse. We started pulling off the walls and realized a HUGE problem.

What you're seeing in the video is a really, really bad electrical (!!!) job done by the previous owner. He tried running electric to the garage and wasn't the cleanest about his work. So, eventually water started coming in, and with all the rain we've had lately, it just continued getting worse.

We've patched the hole and are keeping our fingers crossed it works. If not, I'll be opening my pool to the public shortly. It'll be a $5 cover charge, kid and pet friendly. Don't worry though, your money is all going to a good cause - waterproofing my basement.

Yay, homeowning.
