The Rob and I were talking about Skyscraper and Demi Lovato earlier. He was actually telling me how, while he doesn't feel like the song is geared or intended to be appealing to him, he does think it's a beautiful song. He was even telling me how incredible the music video is for the song. I do have to clarify that I disagree with Rob on only one part of our discussion. I don't think that you have to be a girl to enjoy or connect with this particular song. It's much deeper than that. I think if you have ever felt the heartbreak of love, or been involved in a relationship that was damaging to your heart, soul, and psyche then you can relate to this beautiful song.

Of course I love the song. I think it's simply gorgeous and I love the way that Demi has evolved from the tween scene to mainstream pop. Sometimes it can be very difficult for an artist to make that transition. A lot of time, it seems like the "kiddie tv" stigma sticks (Miley Cyrus, The Jonas Brothers, etc...) but somehow Demi slid right into the world of grown up radio.

At the suggestion of The Rob, I checked out the official music video for Skyscraper, and wow! He wasn't kidding when he said it was good! It actually has everything that a good music video should have without being overly complicated. Sometimes simplicity really is the best way to go. Even her make-up is neutral and understated, as she walks around in nothing fancier than a long white cotton dress. Absolutely beautiful! But don't take my word for it! Check it out yourself.
