Newburgh Native Michael Rosenbaum Added to Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 Cast!
A DC Universe staple has jumped ship to Marvel!
This is HUGE news. Michael Rosenbaum, you may remember playing Lex Luthor on Smallville (and who was recently in town for the Evansville Thunderbolt's Superhero Night), and who is from Newburgh, has been cast in the upcoming blockbuster Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2.
In an interview on The Adam Corolla Show, director James Gunn had this to say about Rosenbaum's character:
"We do have a couple of characters who are very important to the Marvel Universe who are going to make their debut in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 which people don't know about," he revealed. "Sylvester Stallone plays one of these characters...my friend Michael Rosenbaum also has a pretty decent role in the movie as well and it sort of works in tandem with Sly's character."
Oh yeah, Sylvestor Stallone will also be making an appearance in the movie (which is also huge). This is so awesome for Michael Rosenbaum. I've gotten to hang out with him on a number of different occassion's and he's the nicest, most down-to-Earth guy. While we don't know who he is gonna play, hopefully this can lead to more appearances in the Marvel Cinematic Universe!
