Rapper Nelly has been arrested for an alleged rape on his tour bus in Washington. Nelly's been performing on tour with country act Florida Georgia Line, and he was to perform Saturday night (Oct. 7) in Ridgefield.

According to TMZ, the incident occurred Saturday morning at around 3:45 AM and the accuser reportedly said that Nelly specifically is the one who raped her. Later Saturday morning, Nelly (born Cornell Haynes) was booked on second degree rape charges and is reportedly still in custody as of press time.

The rapper's lawyer released a statement to TMZ:

"Nelly is the victim of a completely fabricated allegation. Our initial investigation, clearly establishes the allegation is devoid of credibility and is motivated by greed and vindictiveness. I am confident, once the scurrilous accusation is thoroughly investigated, there will be no charges. Nelly is prepared to pursue all all legal avenues to redress any damage caused by this clearly false allegation."
