Ever have those moments when you’re just sitting there and the right song comes on to go with something you’re feeling? You could be in the gym and that strong adrenaline-filled song comes on to help you power through your workout, or driving around and a song starts that brings you back to some great memory.  But I’m here to talk about those songs that light up your face when you hear it. You know every word, and when it starts the next few minutes are going to be a party. There are so many songs for so many moods.  I believe everyone has their own perfect song for every instance in their life, and I’m no different.  I have compiled my lists of top five go-to 'Good Mood Anthems.' The songs that just lift you up like no other can do:

5. "Take On Me" by A-Ha - I don't care what type of music is your favorite, I'm sure you know this one and can at least sing along to the chorus. For me, the music hits and it's straight performer mode: lights, camera, action!  It doesn't stop until the music ends and I have hit exhaustion.

4. "(Your Love Keeps Lifting Me) Higher and Higher" by Jackie Wilson - First time I remember this song is from Ghostbusters II.  Ever since then, I need to hear this song every once in a while. It just "lifts" me up (for lack of a better word). This song puts a smile on my face and again, I can't help but dance and sing along to it.  It's purely a message of hope for anyone who wants a happy soul.

3. "Never Gonna Give You Up" by Rick Astley - I have been Rick rolled for 27 years! I owned this cassette for the sheer enjoyment of his music, even before it became a game to today's young at heart.  Regardless, not too much makes me happier than catching this song from the beginning.  Ask my wife about my Rick Astley impersonation.

2. "Let My Love Open The Door" by Pete Townshend - This song has been special to me for a long time. This is true definition of a feel-good song. A suitor trying to exclaim that you are loved and you should let love in to open yourself up to wonderful things. I am a hopeless romantic, and maybe I'm foolishly hopeful for people to choose love over hate. This song makes me believe in love and restores my strength in that belief. What makes you feel better than that?

1. "Stand By Me" by Ben E. King - To be number one on this list a song must induce singing along by me and anyone around me.  It must be a message of hope (the message is together we can get through anything), and it must just come to mind and be sung randomly out of nowhere. Check, check and check. This is one of my favorite all-around songs. From the first time I heard it to the next time I'll listen to it, it speaks to my very soul. The core of who I am and what it says is "I love you and I'm here for you. Stand by me."
