Navy Dad Surprises Kids By Dressing Up Like Darth Vader

With yesterday being Veterans Day, there is not a more appropriate time to share this video.  There is nothing more heartwarming than someone being surprised by their loved one who has been away for a while defending our freedom.   This video will make your day.

First off I want to say a big thank you to all of the Veterans, both past, present, and future.  Without you amazing people our country would not be what it is today.  It's so easy to take things for granted, and having a day like Veterans day is a great way to just remind us to stop and think, and really appreciate what we have.  It's all thanks to those brave men and women who stepped up.  I'm very lucky to have many brave Veterans in my family, My Grandpa on my dad's side and my Uncle Vernon were both in the Army during WWII.  My grandpa on my mom's side served in the Navy, and though he was in during peace time between Vietnam and Korea, he did, and saw some amazing things.  I'm so lucky and honored to have these incredible men in my family.

In the description on the video his wife says that the kids father had been gone with the Navy for 3 months, and his son wanted to have a Star Wars themed birthday party, where he would challenge Darth Vader to a dual! As you can see his son got his wish of challenging Darth Vader.  He thought the guy in the costume was his big cousin, when he removes Darth Vader's mask he gets the surprise of his life! His dad was able to leave on a 96-hour pass to come home and surprise his kids (Princess Leia that runs up and hugs him is his daughter).  His wife also says that he is currently deployed on his first deployment, and I'm sure I'm not the only one wishing him a safe and quick return home.
