Milirary Moms Breastfeeding Photo Sparks Controversy

For some reason people have a huge issue with photos of moms breastfeeding, and when these two moms posed for a campaign for National Breast Feeding Awareness Month, a firestorm of controversy broke loose.

“A lot of people are saying it’s a disgrace to the uniform. They’re comparing it to urinating and defecating [while in uniform],” said Crystal Scott, a military spouse who commissioned the photo.  She continues to make the point that “It’s extremely upsetting. Defecating in public is illegal. Breastfeeding is not.”

One of the moms in the photo says: “I’m proud to be wearing a uniform while breastfeeding, I’m proud of the photo and I hope it encourages other women to know they can breastfeed whether they’re active duty, guard or civilian.” You can see more photos of the breastfeeding moms here.  (https://www.facebook.com/pages/Brynja-Sigurdardottir-Photography/232328680117768)
