Kentucky State Police Now Accepting Applications for New Troopers
If you or someone you know has an interest in law enforcement, the Kentucky State Police would like to talk with you.
The Department is looking for a few, or several, good people to put on the uniform and badge to serve and protect residents across the state as official state troopers. Applications are available to download now through the Department's website.
Application is open to both individuals with law enforcement experience, and those without. Depending on which of those categories you fall into, will depend on how long you attend training. If you no previous experience, you'll attend a "rigorous training program of 24 weeks." If you do have previous experience, that time is cut in half (12 weeks).
Also, if you fall into the "no previous experience" category, you must meet one of the following three requirements to apply:
- High school diploma or GED with three years of full-time work experience
- Sixty (60) semester hours of credit from an accredited college or university.
- Two (2) years of active military duty
If you do have experience, it must be two years worth in the state of Kentucky.
Benefits include health and life insurance, and paid vacation.
