When my coworker, Ashley asked me to try on a couple of prom dresses to model for Project Princess, I told her she was crazy! I'm too old for prom dresses!!! Then I found this fabulous pair of shoes... and then the hunt was on to find a dress.

Remember, my daughter is in high school - It's been 20 years (shhhh! Don't tell!) since I wore a prom dress! I really did tell Ashley that she was crazy if she thought she was going to convince ,me to try on a dress, but then she pulled out this pair of shoes. It was settled. I had to wear them, and that meant I needed a dress...

These shoes are what led to this... It's like a mullet... short in the front and long in the back! I LOVE IT!

Project Princess is a great event that is going to give high school girls in need the opportunity to feel like a princess in a fabulous dress (and shoes, purse & jewelry) for prom. Learn more here. I think this program is amazing and I am so grateful to everyone who donated dresses and accessories. Something that few people know is that when I was in high school, I really could have benefited from a program like Project Princess. I bought my own prom dress. I drove two hours round trip to make payments every weekend with money that I saved up from my job waiting tables. There was a teacher who knew this, and bought me my shoes to match. They were a lot like the fabulous pair up above... I've always had a thing for hot pink! So to everyone who has donated, thank you!!! And for the girls who are going to get to be a princess - You are beautiful!!!
