Kat Didn’t Win the Powerball But If She Had…

What would you do with $500 million? Would you save it away? Would you spend it on extravagances? Would you give it away? Donate it to charity? Kat has some ideas.

So like every one else who rushed out to buy a Powerball ticket yesterday, I did not win. I didn't even match a single number. There will be no monetary windfall for me, but that doesn't mean that I can't dream about how I would spend that $500 million.

The very first thing I would do is hire an attorney and an accountant! The majority of the winnings would be put into some kind of investment funds so that it could grow. Then I'd put away some of the winnings into an account for my daughter. The catch being that she wouldn't be able to spend a dime until after she was 25. I've already promised The Rob a hefty share of the winnings. I'd say about $50 million should have him set for awhile. Next up, I'd buy myself a nice house. Nothing extravagant, just something comfortable - no more rent - with room for my cats and maybe a dog! I'd also pay off my car and honestly probably buy a second one just for fun. There would be a monthly donation scheduled to go out to each local shelter and rescue in the community to make sure the animals are cared for every month. I would do would be to plan a trip with my daughter to backpack across Europe. After that, I would just travel the world. There are so many places that I want to see and experience.
