Kat Added A New Addition To Her Family [PICS]

Wow! What a day! Mike & I went to the animal shelter today to take a look around, and we ended up bringing home a beautiful new baby boy the we named Cosmo! He's a blue pitbull with the most incredibly beautiful eyes that I have ever seen. Cosmo immediately stole our hearts!

This is my first experience adopting from an animal shelter, but I have to tell you that it feels really good to know that this amazing animal is now a part of a home where he is going to receive lots and lots of love and attention. It was absolutely heartbreaking to walk in there and make our way through the kennels. There were so many puppies and dogs in there that may never find a forever home, and they all had big eyes that would just melt your heart!

I was especially surprised to see the number of pitbulls that were there. I would venture to say that 75% of the available puppies and dogs were pits or pit mixes. There seem to be a lot of people that want to breed these beautiful dogs just to make a dollar, and then most of them end up in shelters and adoption centers. Cosmo won't be contributing to that particular cause. He has an appointment scheduled in a little more than a week.
