Just Because It’s Summer Doesn’t Mean You Don’t Have To Stop For The School Bus

Something that you may not have realized, or even considered for a second, is that just because it's summer, doesn't mean that you don't still have to stop for a stopped school bus. It had not occurred to me that some students may be attending summer school, and summer school means school buses running routes.

Thanks to Brenda Z. for posting a reminder on my Facebook page. Her son was nearly hit getting off of the school bus by another motorist on the roadway who wasn't paying attention...

...kids are in summer school all over Evansville, and that they are getting on and off buses. My son almost got hit today because someone wasn't paying attention and ran through the school bus arm, thank goodness he hadn't stepped too far into the street.

Keep an eye out. Watch out for stopped buses, and mind your speed in the school zones. Let's make sure that everyone makes it back to school safe and sound in the fall.
