You Can Celebrate ‘Shark Week’ in Owensboro with ‘Jaws’ on the River
The Discovery Channel has announced the dates for Shark Week 2023. From July 11th through July 18th, the network will offer countless specials, shows and movies about sharks. Well, this year, the RiverPark Center in downtown Owensboro is sinking its teeth into some of that action! The popular performing arts venue just announced that it will be showing Jaws as part of its 2023 Summer Entertainment Series. That series was unveiled last Friday and the addition of Jaws jumped right out of the water at me.
The special showing of Jaws will take place on Friday, July 21st.
In addition to a special screening of the Universal Studios classic, the RiverPark Center has announced plans for eleven weeks of fun!
Of course, the movie Jaws was released in 1975 and is still considered, by many critics and fans, one of the scariest thrillers of all time. The movie won three Academy Awards- for Best Film Editing, Best Sound, and, of course, Best Original Dramatic Score.
The movie was also nominated for Best Picture.
As you can see from the schedule above, Jaws will be just one of the movies shown outdoors at RiverPark Center this summer. The first movie out of the gates is also a classic.
The Grease interactive film will kick off the series on Friday, June 2nd.
