'American Idol' season 10 is officially down to the final three. Over 72 million votes were cast this week, making it the highest top-four vote ever in the history of the show.

Unfortunately, even record-breaking numbers weren't enough to save James Durbin. The 22-year-old rocker was sent packing Thursday night, marking yet another surprise in an already surprise-heavy season.

Thursday night's elimination was between Durbin and country singer Scotty McCreery, a duo that many predicted would make it to the finals.

On a lighter note, Thursday's results show featured performances from Enrique Iglesias, Lady Gaga and Jordin Sparks, duets from the remaining contestants and the world premiere of Steven Tyler's new video.

My daughter had t-ball last night so I wasn't able to watch the show. I didn't know until I logged into my Facebook account and read all the updates from my friends who were soooooo shocked that James was eliminated.

I wasn't shocked by this at all. As a matter of fact, I called it back on March 10th once we knew who the top 12 would be. And since I'm apparently pretty gifted when it comes to predicting the future, I'll go ahead and say one of the remaining girls will be the next to go. That way there is a guy and a girl competing for the crown.

Do you think that James Durbin deserved to be eliminated? Will you miss his rockin' wild voice? Do you think he has a successful career ahead of him?

Voice your opinion now, and relive Durbin's memorable first audition performance.
