I know that I have been a victim of a hyper-sensitive smoke alarm. You know, when the indoor grill gets a little too hot and needs to vent? The next you know, the family is evacuating, even though there is barely a puff of smoke.

Wayne Hart Sounds the Alarm

Chief Meteorologist Wayne Hart was preparing for his dinner before the newscast. Unfortunately, Wayne became part of the news after a breakroom incident was caught on security camera.

The drama all unfolded in the WEHT newsroom breakroom. Wayne Hart, a man known for his passion for both weather patterns and perfectly cooked burgers, didn't want to ruin the char on his burger by reheating it in the microwave. So, he used a skillet on a portable burner that turned out to be a little too much for the smoke alarm.

Wayne Stays Cool

If you have ever watched Wayne Hart go wall-to-wall with severe weather coverage, then you have seen him get a little heated. Now, on the opposite end of the spectrum, the video that you are about to watch shows an extremely calm Wayne Hart continuing to eat his dinner - The entire time that the smoke alarm is beeping.

No Worries, Help is on the Way

Now, Wayne says that it only took a few minutes for the Henderson, Kentucky Fire Department to arrive and check everything out. So, he felt like it was okay to go ahead and eat in the breakroom, even with the obnoxious beep of the alarm. We're just happy that no one was injured. Perhaps Joe Bird could come in and prepare dinner for the crew. I hear that he is an amazing chef!
