Families Celebrate The Season At The Ritzy’s Fantasy Of Lights Event
Experiencing Evansville One Event at a Time
I’ve said it before, but I’ll say it again—being new to this area gets better every single month. There’s always something happening, something to discover, and people who welcome you right into the moment. And this week, that something was Ritzy’s Fantasy of Lights.
Bundled Up, Cider in Hand, and Ready for the Night
This was my first time checking it out, and let me tell you… I showed up fully prepared. Triple layers, hand warmers, the works. I grabbed a warm cinnamon cider (thank you to the woman who recommended it) and watched as families, friends, and full-on running crews took off through the lights like it was the North Pole Olympics.
There’s something magical about spending a Wednesday night doing something festive and fun instead of melting into your couch. It’s a chance to reconnect not just with your people, but with the holiday spirit you sometimes forget you needed.
The Heart of Evansville: Giving Back
But the thing that hit me the most wasn’t the lights or the cider—it was the people. Evansville has this incredible way of coming together for a cause. Everywhere I turned, I met someone who genuinely loves this city and wants to support it in any way they can.
And events like this make it easy. Ritzy’s Fantasy of Lights benefits Easterseals, and seeing how excited everyone was to contribute, participate, and show up for the community honestly warmed me up more than the layers I had on.
Why This Night Meant So Much
I walked in expecting a fun holiday event and walked out feeling like I understood Evansville a little better. This city shows up. It gives. It cares. And being a part of that—even as a newbie—felt really special.
If this is what the holiday season in Evansville looks like, I’m absolutely here for it.
