Evansville’s Famous Donut Burger Food Truck Gets New Home

If you've spent any time at the West Side Nut Club Fall Festival, then you likely already know about the donut burger. If not, it’s easy to explain – it is a glorious, slightly ridiculous, utterly delicious mashup of a hamburger patty tucked inside a glazed donut.

Here’s some good news – now you don’t have to wait for the Fall Festival to enjoy a yummy donut burger. Now that Evansville icon is getting a new home — and a new mission.

The Donut Burger Food Truck Finds A New Home

The food truck responsible for slinging those donut burgers for over a decade has been donated to the Evansville African American Museum (EAAM), which isn't wasting any time putting it to work.

Family Day in the Park Details

This Saturday, September 5, 2026, the EAAM, along with the Southern Indiana Mentoring Academy (SIMA), will fire up the food truck for Family Day in the Park, hosted by the Evansville Cultural Experience at Bayard Park. The free event runs from 12n-8pm, and will include live music, field day games, food vendors (like those donut burgers), and plenty of family fun. Proceeds from the day will be shared between EAAM and SIMA, helping provide everything from museum exhibits and educational programs to mentoring opportunities for local youth.

Donut Burgers Return For Fall Festival

Don’t worry if you can’t make it out to the park this weekend, because those donut burgers will be back on the menu once again at the West Side Nut Club Fall Festival, October 5–10 on W. Franklin Street.
