The Budweiser Clydesdales Are Coming to Evansville This June
Okay, I am a Cardinals fan, I grew up near St. Louis so when I saw this I had to share. And this is one of those events that will make Evansville feel more like summer.
The world-famous Budweiser Clydesdales are officially coming to town this June, and there are going to be several chances to see them around the area.
And yes, we’re talking about the full hitch.
If you’ve never seen the Clydesdales in person before, pictures do not do them justice. These horses are massive, beautiful, and somehow even more impressive up close. It’s one of those things that both kids and adults stop everything to go see.
Here’s Where You Can Catch Them
The first public appearance will happen Wednesday, June 10 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the North Park Shopping Center on First Avenue. The full hitch will be there, which is always the big crowd favorite.
Then on Friday, June 12, the Clydesdales will be part of the Franklin Street parade starting at Smitty’s from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Again, the full hitch will be featured, and honestly, Franklin Street feels like the perfect backdrop for something this classic.
Saturday, June 13 brings a little something different. From 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. there will be a one-horse show behind Smitty’s at the corner of Michigan and 10th during the West Side Nut Club Cruise-In festivities.
And then they’ll wrap up the weekend Sunday, June 14 at the Bosse Field during the Evansville Otters game from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. with another full hitch appearance.
A Summer Event People Will Actually Want to Get Out For
There’s just something nostalgic about the Budweiser Clydesdales. Even people who aren’t huge horse fans usually get excited when they roll into town.
It’s one of those rare events that feels old school in the best possible way. Families come out, people line the streets, kids stare in disbelief at how gigantic these horses are, and everybody ends up taking about 40 pictures on their phone.
