The topic of the World's Fair came up recently, and the conversation centered around how you just don't hear anything about it anymore. After checking and learning that it's been multiple decades since there was one here in the States, I had my answer. They still happen, but you'd better update your passport if you want to visit one.

World Oddities Expo -- Nashville, Louisville, Indianapolis

As a kid, I always wanted to go--the 1982 expo in Knoxville was the closest it ever came to my front door--but I will absolutely settle for something called the World Oddities Expo. That sounds more up my alley, anyway. I'm anxious to learn if I'm right.

Described as a "traveling oddities festival"--I like it already--the World Oddities Expo will visit several major metropolitan areas throughout 2025. And on June 14th, Expo organizers will invite you to "unleash your weird side" at the Nashville Fairgrounds. What I like about the World Oddities Expo's website is that it sort of makes your plans for you. If you clicked that "Nashville Fairgrounds" link, then you likely noticed that the site offers lists of nearby restaurants, other Nashville attractions (no shortage there), and accommodations. Not only is it good for World Oddities Expo business, it's good for the host city's business, too.

If you miss out on Music City, the Kentucky Exposition Center in Louisville will roll out the red carpet on June 28th. Again, everything you need for the perfect mini-vacation is right there, just as it will be for when the Expo visits Indianapolis on November 8th.

Who's ready to experience the world's oddities and not have to drive very far to do it? My hand is up; how about yours?
