We’re Giving Away 5 Pairs of Tickets to Waitress — Here’s How to Win
Back in 2017, I had the opportunity to plop down in the front row of the Brooks Atkinson Theatre (now the Lena Horne Theatre) in New York City and watch the Broadway musical Waitress. Going into it, I knew two things. I knew that pop star Sara Bareilles wrote the music and lyrics and I knew that Tony Award-winning actress Jessie Mueller, who previously starred in Beautiful: The Carole King Musical, played the lead role (Jenna).
For quick reference, here's a brief synopsis of the show from the 10th Anniversary Tour. Jenna is "a waitress and expert pie-maker who dreams of a way out of her small town and rocky marriage." Those hopes and dreams ride on a baking contest in a nearby county.
Before seeing the show in person, I had been captivated by Sara and Jessie's performance on The Tony Awards and fell in love with the song "She Used to Be Mine."

I'll confess. Going into the show, I was a bit worried it would be a one-hit wonder. But it wasn't. The show was unexpectedly funny, at times moving, and Bareilles' music was infectious. I loved the show and am really excited that I am getting the chance to see it for the second time when the touring company rolls into my hometown this September.
Waitress is set to play the RiverPark Center in downtown Owensboro on Friday, September 18th and I encourage you to check it out. Tickets for the show are available now online (via Ticketmaster) and at the RiverPark Center Box Office. And, how about this slice of pie?
