For the last ten years, a regular feature called "The Tri-State Bucket List" has sent us to so many wonderful locally-owned restaurants in western Kentucky and southern Indiana that I've lost count. Sure, everyone has their favorite national chain, but there's nothing like a charming local eatery that packs everything with love.

The 50 restaurants tabbed by LoveFood as the most charming in their respective states also hit all the right notes. In fact, the LoveFood team was so enamored of the Kentucky selection that they placed it at No. 4 in the entire country. So, it's high time we take a trip to Alvaton KY--just south of Bowling Green--and visit the The Pie Queen by Boyce General Store. (With a name like that, how could you not already love it?)

Brie Golliher is the Pie Queen, and her wonderful talents and contributions have not gone unnoticed on multiple platforms. FOX News, USA Today, Country Living, and Southern Living, among others, have all sung her praises.

Brie and her husband, Brad, purchased the Boyce General Store in 2012 and converted it into a restaurant the couple closed in 2020. But that only served as a springboard to the massive operation that is now The Pie Queen. Brie's YouTube channel is a big hit, kind of like Bowling Green's version of The Food Network with the Queen herself showing us all how to make one delectable treat after another. For obvious reasons, this one caught my eye immediately:

And then I saw "lemon chess pie" and shed a few tears:

But The Pie Queen's channel isn't just about desserts. In fact, it's not always about pie, either, as special guest "The Queen Mother" shows us.

You want to give your taste buds the royal treatment? The Pie Queen is ready to serve in south central Kentucky.
