In one Daviess County neighborhood, something simple has been happening over the past several days. #forreece

Homes in Deer Valley are lighting up green at night. Porch lights, yard lights, windows, and small touches of color appear on one house at a time. If a home doesn’t have lights, green ribbons have been tied to doors, fences, and railings instead. It has grown quickly, and now more than a hundred homes are part of it.

The color carries meaning and hope. Green was Reece's favorite color, and neighbors have found their own quiet ways to show a local family they aren't alone. There was no formal plan or announcement. It started in small pockets, then spread as people followed suit, wanting to be part of it.

At night, Deer Valley glows. The light is impossible to miss, stretching down streets and across front yards, more than a hundred homes now part of something that nobody organized but everyone understood.

A community quietly surrounding a family. One light at a time. That’s just the Daviess County way. People here show up for their neighbors, especially when it’s hardest. It’s one of the things that makes this place feel like home.

Here's how you can help the family.
