Riverpark Center Hosting World Premiere of ‘Bachelor Santa’ Movie
Christmas stuck around a little longer last year because downtown Owensboro was turned into a movie set! 'Bachelor Santa' began filming in January 2025 and is now ready to premiere just in time for the holiday season.
While the lead characters were cast from other parts of the country, local folks got to fill in as extras, and local companies were featured in multiple ways, whether by providing props, food, or even just a space for the drama to unfold. It was SO FUN to see the community come together and be so involved in the process.
Here's a behind-the-scenes look from Owensboro Times:
That has since led to the opening of the Kentucky Sound Stage here in town and more opportunities for movie magic right here in Western Kentucky.
'Bachelor Santa' Premieres November 2025
On November 29th, the Riverpark Center in Owensboro, KY, will host the world premiere complete with a Hollywood red carpet for the stars to walk starting at 6 PM. Chad and I will also be there to interview the film's stars, Jason Tobias, Ella Cannon, and Grace Patterson for the livestream. Expect some festive surprises as well!

Here's the synopsis: "The film tells the story of a single mother who owns a bakery and is struggling to make ends meet. She enters a baking contest, hoping to win money to help her survive, and the baker's daughter writes a letter to Santa asking for someone for her mother to love. Meanwhile, Santa is getting ready to retire and turn the family business over to his son, Nick. Nick sees the letter and the picture and decides to enter the baking contest the mother has entered so he can meet her."

WBKR's Christmas Wish will be there to celebrate and collect new toys for tri-state children in need. As you may know, last year Barb and her dedicated elves helped 8,000 kids get a visit from Santa and we expect Christmas 2025 to be even bigger.
