USA Today listed the 10 Best Places to See Fireworks, and there are some awe-inspiring places to check out fireworks, like:
- Macy's 4th of July Fireworks in New York City
- Celebrate Saint Louis in St. Louis
- Minneapolis Aquatennial in Minneapolis
- Let Freedom Sing in Nashville
- Ford Fireworks in Detroit
All of those places would be great for a fireworks display, as you can tell, considering they were all ranked in the top ten, but only one place could take the top spot: Navy Pier.
One of Chicago’s sparkling traditions takes place at the iconic Navy Pier, where fireworks are held twice a week during the summer and as part of the New Year’s Eve celebration each December 31. These displays create unforgettable nights on the Pier, with breathtaking views of both the Chicago skyline and Lake Michigan. While watching from the Pier offers a front-row experience, the show can also be seen from charter boats, hotel rooftops, Maggie Daley Park, or along the Lakefront Trail.

Since the 4th of July falls on a Friday in 2025, there will be no fireworks on the actual day itself. Still, you can count on it happening on Saturday, July 5, with an extended "15-minute Independence Celebration fireworks show," according to NBC5 in Chicago, as organizers have confirmed.
