A California-based company has recalled nearly 25,000 pounds of frozen food products sold at Aldi stores nationwide including Indiana and Kentucky after it was discovered that the products may have been contaminated with a "foreign material" - more specifically metal.

Metal Reportedly Found Inside Frozen Food Sold at Aldi

The recall was issued after a consumer reported to having found a piece of metal inside the frozen food product. In another report, a consumer complained of having experienced a dental injury as the result of consuming the frozen food product.

Recalled Product Manufactured by Bestway Sandwiches Inc

The affected frozen food products, manufactured by Bestway Sandwiches Inc., were produced between July 2, 2024 and September 25, 2024.

What Is The Name of the Recalled Frozen Food Sold at Aldi?

The products, packaged, frozen chicken and cheese taquitos, were sold in 20 ounce packages labeled under the name "Casa Mamita Chicken & Cheese Taquitos." The recalled products are marked with "Best By" dates of 07/03/25 and 09/25/25.

Where Were Recalled Taquitos Sold?

In addition, the affected products are marked with the establishment number "EST. P-40327" on each package. The products were sold at Aldi store locations across the nation, including in Indiana, Kentucky, and Illinois.

What To Do If You Have Recalled Taquitos at Home

The Food Safety and Inspection Service branch of the USDA says they are concerned that the products may be in consumer's freezers. If you are in possession of one of the recalled products, you should not consume them, and are urged to either throw them away or return them to the original point of purchase for a refun.
