Cops Cycling for Survivors Will Ride Across Indiana in July
Cops Cycling for Survivors will be hosting its 23rd annual bicycle tour across Indiana this July.
Cycling Almost 1,000 Miles Across Indiana
Cops Cycling for Survivors will cover nearly 1,000 miles over 13 days on two wheels in honor of law enforcement officers who have fallen in the line of duty, as well as to honor their survivors.
Honoring Indiana Officers Who Have Died in the Line of Duty
Cops Cycling for Survivors honors Indiana officers that have been recognized by state and federal officials as having died in the line of duty. Seven officers will be recognized as line of duty deaths in 2023. In addition to memorializing those who have fallen, the organization also raises money to provide financial support for survivors, including line of duty death benefits for those who are primary survivors. Additionally, the money from the ride also funds scholarships, camps, and other support for survivors.
Cops Cycling for Survivors First Began in 2002
Cops Cycling for Survivors began more than 20 years ago in 2002 with a ride to Washington, D.C. Now, cyclists ride across Indiana to meet with the survivors of officers who have fallen, in an effort to support them as they continue to grieve the loss of those they love. During the tour, the group reads a memorial for each of the more than 450 Indiana officers who have fallen in the line of duty.
