A new report based on FBI data shows the ten most dangerous cities in Indiana, and the results might come as a surprise.

When you think of Indiana overall, you don't really associate it with crime. Sure, criminal acts happen all of the time, but that's not typically the stereotype that goes with Indiana. I mean Indiana isn't even one of the top ten most dangerous states in the country. No matter what state you live in, there are always certain places that you want to avoid due to how dangerous some of the neighborhoods are, and Indiana is no exception. Last year, we reported the 10 most dangerous cities in the state for 2023, and I was baffled at how my hometown of Boonville somehow made that list. I've lived there practically my whole life, and "dangerous" isn't even close to a word that I would use to describe the small town. Now, new data has surfaced, so let's see what the 10 most dangerous cities in Indiana are in 2024.

10 Most Dangerous Cities In Indiana in 2024

Last year, we found our data from Southwest Journal. In 2024, the data comes from Road Snacks. So things could look a little different than 2023's list. Before we go into this list, it is important to first know how Road Snacks used data to come to the results:

To determine Indiana‘s most dangerous places, we used Saturday Night Science to compare the FBI’s latest crime report for violent crime and property crime statistics for the 97 cities with over 5,000 residents

Now that we understand the data, let's find out what the top ten most dangerous cities are in Indiana for 2024.

In any event, I wouldn't let these findings deter you from visiting some of these places. These cities have so much to offer folks in the area. Although, I would be cautious about entering some areas if they seem a little "off". There are still some pretty cool places to shop, visit, eat, and drink in all of these towns.
